US Citizenship Ceremony Video

This is the video I took of Christy's citizenship oath in San Antonio last August.  The video runs about 3 minutes long.  It wouldn't be that interesting if it wasn't for the wacko shouting after the country "Sudan" was read.  Listen carefully and you can hear Taiwan right after.

How exciting. Very cool. What do you do now in the States? I taught ESL abroad last year, and I've been considering doing it again. But I'm afraid of getting trapped abroad simply because I won't be able to find a job back in the States. I wonder what happens to all the Americans that teach abroad an come home during bad economic times.

The economy is improving. It's not as bad as it was 4 years ago, when I came back to the states.

We came back to America in May of 2008, just a few short months before Bush left office. The economy was its worst point then. I don't know what we were thinking, but we somehow managed to find jobs and survive. Read some of my blogs from May, June, and July of 2008 and you'll see it was quite scary.

Ok, Ken, thanks. I'll check out the 2008 posts. I recently returned to the U.S. and am unemployed. I'm freaked out. I've been thinking about teaching abroad again because of the job situation here. But I know that I'd just wind up facing the same situation again. I need a better reentry plan than I have now. Maybe I need additional training for the U.S. job market before going abroad again.
